Cookout with the Ricketts

This morning we were able to meet Jan's other brother-in-law, Rich. He came over to lay the kitchen floor here at Jan's house. Annie (Jan's older sister) called and asked if Taylor could spend the day with Levi (They really hit it off Saturday.), and Nathan being Nathan jumped right in and helped Wil and Rich get the floor laid. While they were still working Martha, the other two boys and I all headed to Davenport to watch Katie (Jan's niece) perform as Belle in a practice for her senior play, Beauty and the Beast. They are going to do a great job next week!
From the school we were on our way to Annie's house for a cookout/bbq. It was so much fun getting to really spend time this week with the family. It seems I have known them for 17 years too, but in all actuality we had only met once before at graduation. They have all been so kind and welcoming, and we have felt right at home here with them! Dion (Annie's husband) cooked up some terrific burgers, and Annie and Wil finished us off with huckleberry shakes - we are trying to get our fill on this native treat before heading out of the mountains. We visited for quite awhile, played "soccer" while the burgers cooked, flew kites, listened to the boys play piano, heard Levi on his mandolin while Katie sang, listened to a piano duet by Jan and Annie and watched Levi's card tricks. We enjoyed our time with them very much! Thanks Y'ALL! :)
